Costa Rica Eco-Adventure Tour
9 Days / 8 Nights

TOUR ITINERARY:

This Tour is specifically designed for U.S. based travelers coming from SFO, LAX or JFK to Costa Rica on TACA Airlines.

Day 1: (Saturday) - Arrive in San Jose on TACA Airlines at 10 am (Red-eye flight leaves SFO on Friday night at midnight) / Transfer to San Isidro in Private Shuttle Bus / Stop for lunch at La Georgina Restaurant (overlooking Cerro de La Muerte) / Quick Stop in San Isidro at Salvador's sister home for refreshments / Scenic adventure drive to Buenaventura / ½ mile hike through the rainforest to Buenaventura / Group Dinner / Stay 1st night at Buenaventura

Day 2: (Sunday) - Horseback Tour to Las Pilas Waterfalls and Swimming Holes in the Los Santos Forest Reserve / Afternoon for personal downtime (swim in the river, hang out on a hammock, plant a seed in the Organic Gardens & Nursery or Learn how to make Sugar Cane Juice) / Group Dinner / Stay 2nd night at Buenaventura

Day 3: (Monday) - Private Shuttle Bus to San Isidro and out towards Pacific Ocean / Lunch and Ecological presentation and rainforest walking tour at Hacienda Baru (learn about ASANA Conservation Project) / Drive to Rafiki Safari Lodge (Learn about Rafiki's Tapir re-introduction program & Wildlife Refuge initiative) / Group Dinner at Rafiki Safari Lodge / Stay 3rd night at Rafiki Safari Lodge

Day 4: (Tuesday) - Rafting Tour with Rafiki Crew on Savegre River / Lunch along Savegre River / Return to lodge and drive to Manuel Antonio in time for Sunset on the beach / Check into Hotel Verde Mar located on the beach in Manuel Antonio / Group Dinner at Blue Marlin / Stay 4th night at Hotel Verde Mar

Day 5: (Wednesday) - Flex/Free day (Option to do Canopy Tour, Manuel Antonio National Park Tour or Hang out at the beach) / Group Dinner at Mar Luna / Nighttime Bar & Club Tour with Guide / Stay 5th night at Hotel Verde Mar

Day 6: (Thursday) - Morning visit to Manuel Antonio National Park / Private Shuttle Bus to Monteverde / Stop in Playa Hermosa for Lunch at Jungle Surf Café! / Check into Hotel Belmar in Monteverde / Group Dinner at Hotel Belmar / Stay 6th night at Hotel Belmar

Day 7: (Friday) - Tour of Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with Local Guide / Boat across Lake Arenal to La Fortuna / Check into Arenal Observatory Lodge / Relax and soak in Hot Springs / Dinner at Choza De Laurel / Stay 7th night at Arenal Observatory Lodge

Day 8: (Saturday) - Half-Day Mountain Bike Arenal Volcano Tour / Rejuvenate and nourish yourself at Eco-Termales Hot Springs in the evening / Group Dinner / Stay 8th night at Arenal Observatory Lodge

Day 9: (Sunday) - Drive to Nectandra Institute Cloud Forest Reserve / Short Walking Tour with Arturo Joaquin and Lunch at Nectandra Institute / Drive to Airport / TACA Departure Flight at 5:20 pm / Return to San Francisco at 11:59 pm
